With Microcredentials to Skilled Workforse
The methodology for developing microcredentials was discussed during a meeting in Skopje from April 17th to 19th, 2024. This meeting involved participating organizations from eight countries as part of the BEM Erasmus project. These countries include North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Germany, Norway, Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine.
Hosted by Brainsted Next College, one of the project's North Macedonian partners, the aim was to pioneer a methodological approach to enhance the transparency and international recognition of microcredentials, aligning with European standards while complying with national legislative requirements. In the evolving landscape of education and employment, microcredentials serve as the compass guiding individuals towards personalized skill acquisition, empowering them to navigate global opportunities with confidence.
The BEM project, funded by ERASMUS PLUS, focuses on developing microcredentials tailored to local labor market needs and employer demands. An innovative aspect involves signing memoranda of cooperation with key employers and labor market mediation institutions. This collaboration allows employers to influence microcredential design based on their needs. Subsequently, these microcredentials will undergo methodological alignment and harmonization, enabling individuals to have their learning recognized across Europe.
